Overview

Gossamer Strings are an accomplished group of musicians who play beautiful music to enhance the mood of weddings and other special events. We provide a versatile range of ensemble combinations and repertoire to suit your taste, the size of your function and budget.

Musicians
The number of musicians and instrumentation can be tailored to your requirements. Most popular is our quartet comprising two violins, a viola and a cello. This ensemble plays a wide variety of musical styles including baroque, classical, romantic, tango, popular and jazz. For smaller functions, a similar repertoire is available using a trio consisting of two violins and cello or a simple but elegant violin and cello duo. We are able to accommodate requests for music outside our repertoire for a small fee.

Baroque Ensemble
Playing exclusively music of the baroque and classical periods such as Bach, Handel and Corelli, this ensemble provides a distinctive, more ethereal quality to an event. Players use instruments of the baroque period in various formations depending on the repertoire required. For a truly unique musical experience, this ensemble can also include harpsichord, recorder or voice depending on your preference and the music required.
